كل ما يهمك عن إجراءات التجميل “الجراحية وغير الجراحية”

So, I consulted an expert regarding some of the believed-to-be instant treatments and found out just how many actually deliver so-called instant gratification.

Kybella

The idea of eliminating our double chin in the time it takes to visit the gym may sound too-good-to-be-true, and the truth is – it is. It works, but it takes some time. “On average it takes about 4 weeks to see results, and treatments may need to be repeated 1-3 times depending on the patient and also need to be, spaced 4 weeks apart,” says plastic surgeon Dr. Heather Furnas

Dermal Fillers

Fillers (including Restylane, Juvederm Ultra, Ultra Plus, Voluma, and Sculptra) are accompanied by about a week of swelling. “This is more noticeable in some areas, such as the lips, and less so with others, such as the nasolabial folds,” says Dr. Furnas. Results are immediate but dependent on the experience and qualifications of your injector.

Botulinum toxin (including Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin) takes 7-10 days to take complete effect. So, fairly instant, but not walk-out-the-door and you’re good-to-go.

Chemical Peels

Want to be fresh-faced for summer? Dr. Furnas says TCA peels take 5-7 days for the outer skin layer to exfoliate, and then the skin is fresh, but pink for a few weeks. Plus, you shouldn’t head out to sunbathe so soon after a treatment, as that may increase redness and healing time.

Plumping Lips with Fillers

We love the idea of plumping to instantly have the look of swollen, kissable lips. They won’t last forever, but they do work fast. Lip fillers are temporary but instantaneous, says Dr. Furnas. So, keep plumping!

When we want a quick fix, we have to remember we may be sacrificing the very results we want quickly. Just as with a diet and exercise, anything worth having is going to require some time, and effort – as well as patience. “Patients want the best we can offer and sometimes what we can’t, whether it’s surgical results with a nonsurgical treatment or an instantaneous result from any treatment. Patient education is really the key to realistic expectations. Once they understand, patients are much more likely to accept what is possible and what isn’t,” says Dr. Furnas.

So, know what you want, but be reasonable about what that will mean for you as far as results and timespan expectations. And then, manage those expectations before making any decisions. You may have to deal with swelling or bruising or multiple treatments to get your ultimate final result.

“Because so many results depend on an inflammatory response that takes time, it’s unrealistic to expect a wide range of instantaneous results, especially ones that are dramatic and lasting,” cautions Dr. Furnas.
